Services for Martha Mary Reiter Bonek, 87, of 1506 W. Poland St., who died at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday in her home, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Casimir’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where the rosary will be said at 2:30 p.m. Thursday by the Senior Citizens of the church and a parish rosary at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc. Mrs. Bonek retired from Uniroyal Plastics Co. Inc., in 1965. She was born July 7, 1901, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On Feb 21, 1921, in South Bend, she married Sylvester J. Bonek. He died in 1979. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Whittington of Rifle, Colo.; four sons, Ernest of Mishawaka and Eugene, Daniel and Robert, all of South Bend; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anne Mary Vargo of South Bend. Mrs. Bonek was a member and trustee of St. Ann Society, a member of Rosary Society, Ladies Civic Club, Adoration Society and Senior Citizens, all of the church, a member of Harvest House of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Polish Womens Alliance.
