SOUTH BEND - Alexander Bokor, 77, of 126 N.
Sheridan St., died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in his home of natural
causes. Mr. Bokor was a meat cutter for VanBuren Food Market and
retired in 1981. He was born June 20, 1916, in South Bend and was
a lifelong area resident.
On May 13, 1950, in South Bend, he married
Kathleen Murphy. She survives with three daughters, Rose
Marie Freehauf of Granger, Kathleen Henry of
Carroll Stream, Ill., and Joyce Ann Bokor of South Bend; two
sons, David Bokor of South Bend and Dan Manis of Fort
Myers, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four
sisters, Esther Turza and Carolyn Bradberry, both
of Zapata, Texas, Marian Newbrough of Fresno, Calif., and
Sylvia Ann Bokor of New York; and a brother, Eugene of Rio Vista,
Calif. He was a trustee of Immanuel United Methodist Church and
member of Tool & Die Bowling League.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the
church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call one
hour before services Wednesday in the church. Forest G. Hay
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions
may be made to the American Heart Fund.
