SOUTH BEND - Marie V. Bokon, 90, of Moline, Illinois,
formerly of South Bend, passed away at 9:22 PM on Monday,
February 18, in Trinity Hospital, Rock Island, IL. Marie was born
on April 6, 1917, in Mishawaka, as the daughter of Achiel E. and
Rosalie (Lootens) Accoe.
On July 2, 1938, in South Bend, as Marie
Accoe, she married Joseph L. Bokon, who preceded her in death on
September 11, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her
parents. Surviving Marie are her son, Joseph L. (Emma) Bokon III
of South Bend; two daughters, Mary Jo (Sidney) Sheets of
Moline, IL, and Patricia (Danny) Glassburn of Loveland,
CO; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving
are one sister, Evelyn Van Puyvelde of Moline, IL, and two
brothers, George Accoe of Wakarusa, IN, and Richard Accoe of
Dowagiac, MI. Marie was a member of the former Stephens Catholic
Church in South Bend and the St. Theresa Association.
Family and friends may call from 3 to 7 PM
on Thursday February 21, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th
Street, Mishawaka, where the Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:30
PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM
in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, with
Rev. Barry England officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel
Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America.
