SOUTH BEND - Mary R. Bokhart, 92, of South Bend, passed
away Wednesday morning, Dec. 26, 2007, in St. Paul's Retirement
Community where she had resided for several years. Mary was born
Oct. 30, 1915, in Mishawaka, a daughter of the late Camiel and
Sedonie (Biesbrouck) Bokhart. She had lived in
Rochester, New York, and Tampa and St. Petersburg, Florida, for
many years. Mary greatly enjoyed her work in Florida as an
executive secretary for a research center. At one time she served
as president of her secretarial group and did considerable
entertaining for them. Mary was an avid reader and writer, and
enjoyed making crafts. She loved living in Florida.
Following retirement, Mary moved to South
Bend to be near her family. She was a member of St. Bavo Catholic
Church in Mishawaka. Mary's surviving family includes her two
sisters, Henrietta Fox of Mishawaka and Agnes Ernst
of Aurora, Illinois, formerly of Mishawaka, three nieces and
three nephews, several great-nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may gather Friday from
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Thallemer, Goethals & Wells
Funeral Home, 503 West Third Street, Mishawaka. Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1:00 p.m. in St. Bavo
Catholic Church, 511 West Seventh Street, Mishawaka, with Rev.
Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill
Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's
Retirement Community. Assistance with memorials is available at
the funeral home.
