Robert O. Bogue
SOUTH BEND - Robert O. Bogue, 85, formerly of 17850 Cleveland Road, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 1, 2007. He was born June 3, 1921, in Chicago, IL, to Leonard Edward and Lillie Mae (Yetter) Bogue. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a sister, Betty Mae Mixtacki.
On Aug. 28, 1943, in South Bend, he married
the former Eleanor Grace Shaw, who died May 24, 2006. Mr. Bogue
is survived by his daughter, Marjorie J. Sparks of
Fishers, IN; sons, Robert and Laura Bogue of Paris, IL, Rodney
and Lisa Lynn Bogue of Walkerton, IN, Ralph and Theresa Bogue of
New Carlisle, IN, and Ross and Maggie Bogue of Chicago, IL; 15
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and brothers, Edward
Bogue of Barrington, IL, and Leonard Thomas Bogue of Dowagiac,
MI.
Mr. Bogue retired as a supervisor in the maintenance tool-and-die
department of the Bendix Corp. in 1984 after 43 years of service.
He graduated from the former Washington Clay High School and
attended the University of Notre Dame. He served in the United
States Army in Korea and was discharged in 1947. He was a member
of the Masonic Lodge 45 F&AM, the Scottish Rite Valley of
South Bend, the Pioneer Auto Club, St. Joseph County 4-H Board,
American Turners and the Triple R Riding Club.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, in the
First Presbyterian Church, 333 W. Colfax, with Rev. David Morrow
and Rev. Don Neely officiating. Friends are invited to visit with
the family following the memorial service. The Welsheimer Family
Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
