Eleanor Grace Bogue, 83, of South Bend, passed away Wednesday morning, May 24, 2006, with her loving family present. She was born June 24, 1922, in South Bend, to the late Harold and Gladys (Nielson) Shaw. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Betsy Detterich and Laura Jane Koustmer; and brothers, James, George and Edwin Shaw.
On August 28, 1943, in South Bend, Eleanor married Robert O. Bogue, who survives to cherish her memory. Also surviving are her daughter, Marjorie J. Sparks of Fishers, Ind.; sons, Robert O. (Laura) of Paris, Ill., Rodney M. (Lisa Lynn) of Walkerton, Ralph E. (Theresa) of New Carlisle, and Ross A. (Maggie) of Chicago; grandchildren, Sarah, Ryan, Daniel and Susan Sparks, Kaitlin Dimoff, Robert, Rusty, Bradley, Riley, Casey, Jennifer, Tera, and Grace Bogue, Christina Kincaid, and Dustin Hankins; great-grandchildren, Aiden Michael Randolph, Alexander Bogue and Savannah Grace Kincaid; sisters, Phyllis Pearson, Helen Werner, Marilyn Sellers and Barbara Burks, all of South Bend, Nancy Kealey of Warsaw, Patsy Wagner of Cape Coral, Fla., and Sally Sergent of California.
Mrs. Bogue was a member of First Presbyterian Church, The Rainbow Girls, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 569, The American Turners, Pioneer Auto Club, the Good Sam Club, Triple R Riding Club, and was active in the D.A.R. and the Clay Township 4H Club.
Memorial services will be on Thursday, June 1, 2006, at 3 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, 333 West Colfax Avenue, with Revs. David Marrow and Don Neely officiating. Friends may visit with the family after services. The Welsheimer Family Funeral Home assisted the family with their arrangements.
