Henry Z. Bognar

September 8, 1923 – June 15, 1982

Henry Z. Bognar, 58, of 53180 Seminole Lane, died at 11am Tuesday in Elkhart General Hospital after a lengthy illness.  He was division general manager of Taylor Products of Elkhart. 

He was born on September 8, 1923, in South Bend and was a lifetime area resident.  On May 18, 1946, in South Bend, he married the former Evelyn Lechtanski, who survives.  Other survivors are two daughters, Miss Susan Bognar of South Bend and Miss Patricia Bognar of Chicago; a son, Thomas Bognar of San Francisco; his mother, Mrs. Mary Bognar of South Bend; and six brothers, Ernest, William, Albert, Alex, Joseph and Edward, all of South Bend.

Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 2pm Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Notre Dame, with Rev. Chester Soleta, CSC, pastor, officiating.  Entombment will be in Highland Cemetery, where the family will receive friends after the graveside services.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, a graduate of Washington High School and he attended the University of Notre Dame.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American or St Joseph County Cancer Society.  The Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
