Mary N. Boettcher, 77, of Ruthie
Avenue, South Bend, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, in her home.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1928, in South Bend, to the late Frank
and Rosina (Fazio) Ruggieri.
On July 3, 1948, in South Bend, Mary married
Bill Boettcher. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1988. Also
preceding her in death were her three sisters, Diana Schoofield,
Elizabeth Pridmore and Elvira Caron; and a brother, Nick
Ruggieri. Mary worked as a laundry attendant at the University of
Notre Dame. She was a member of the Pioneer Auto Club. Mary loved
to cook and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She is survived by
and will be missed by her loving family; her daughter, Diannah
(David) Thibault of South Bend; her two sons, Michael
Boettcher of Dallas, Texas and Terry (Claudette) Boettcher of
Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Jeremy Boettcher, Christopher
Boettcher, Nicole Thibault, Jennifer Boettcher and Brittney
Thibault; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Bea
Ruggieri.
Friends may visit with her family on Sunday,
Dec. 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home,
17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. A funeral service will be held
at 4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. The family requests that in
lieu of flowers, donations be made to the family to help with
funeral costs.
