SOUTH BEND - Josephine Ann Boden, 91, of South Bend, IN,
passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, in her home. She was born
on September 11, 1916, in Wilkes Barre, PA, to the late Grant and
Rose Sesock. She moved to South Bend, coming from the St.
Louis area, and had lived here for 57 years. She was employed by
the Francis Shop and then the Milady Shop as a salesperson until
she retired from the latter after 30 years of service. Josephine
is survived by her son, Donald Eugene Willman of South
Bend; nieces, Doris Strealdorf, Kay Heck, Sharon Norbery
and Roz Mackey; and a nephew, William "Bitz" Aksamit;
as well as many extended family. She was preceded in death by 13
brothers and sisters. She was a member of St. Mary's PNCC Parish,
where she was very active. She was also an active fundraiser.
Josephine loved to sing and in her younger years sang with Les
Brown's Orchestra and Ozzie Nelson's Orchestra. She also loved
embroidery, cribbage and was a professional pool player in the
St. Louis area.
There will be no visitation. A memorial Mass
will be held at 6:30 PM Thursday, September 11, 2008, in St.
Mary's PNCC Parish. Kaniewski Funeral Homes, South Bend, is
handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to
the St. Mary's PNCC Parish, 1601 W. Sample Street, South Bend, IN
