Theresa Bobinecz, 97, of Division
Street in Mishawaka, died Thursday, October 6, 2005, in Holy
Cross Health Center. She was born in Versenmanti in the former
Austria-Hungary on December 25, 1907, to Andrew and Mary (Kopa)
Dubroka. She immigrated to the United States in 1911. Theresa
married Charles Bobinecz in Mishawaka at the St. Michael
Ukrainian Church on September 21, 1924. Charles preceded her in
death on September 21, 1982. She was also preceded in death by a
sister and five brothers. Mrs. Bobinecz is survived by three
daughters, Helen (Frank) Orisich, Mary (Ed) Stuglik
and Marjorie (John) Schwind, all of South Bend; and a son,
Charles (Mary) Bobinecz of Alamo, CA; 12 grandchildren and 17
great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She retired in
1965 from Uniroyal where she had been employed for 30 years.
Theresa was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, the Rosary
Sodality, Daughters of Isabella and was an auxiliary member of
The Legion of Mary. She was very active in both St. Monica and
St. Michael Ukrainian churches and was a member of the Mishawaka
St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. Theresa will be remembered for her
needlework and cooking, and for acts of kindness toward family
and friends.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 12th, in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., where a Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. by the Legion of Mary. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Monica Catholic Church, with Fr. Jeffery Largent officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Monica School.
