Verna B. Blosser, 79, of Palmetto, Fla., formerly of New Carlisle and South Bend, Ind., passed away at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, in Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Fla. Mrs. Blosser was born on Feb. 26, 1922, in Birmingham, Ohio, and had lived in Florida since 1970.
On Nov. 14, 1942, in New Carlisle, Ind., as Verna B. Freeland, she married Forrest J. Blosser Jr., who preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Freeland. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Blosser Golus of Palmetto; her two sons, Ronald (Diana) Blosser of New Carlisle and Larry (Julie) Blosser of Bradenton; five grandchildren, Brian, Jeremy, Christopher, Tyler and Erica Blosser; and by her sister, Norma (Charles) Hafer of South Bend.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle. Burial will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
