Balthasar Bleich, 81, of 209 1/2 Chapin St., died Thursday in
Memorial Hospital after a 4-week illness. He was born on July 4,
1883 in Austria, coming here 62 years ago from there. He married
Elizabeth Tschida on Nov. 7, 1905, in South Bend. She died on
Aug. 30, 1960. He is survived by a son, George M. Bleich, Tucson,
Ariz., a grandchild, a great-grandchild and a brother, Martin
Bleich, South Bend. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday at the
Nemeth Funeral Home. Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in St.
Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Rev. Martin A.
Horvath, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland
Cemetery. He was a member of the St. Stephen Society of St.
Mary's Church.

BLEICH - Pallbearers at services for Balthasar Bleich, 209 1/2
Chapin St., who died Thursday, will be Arthur Tschida, George
Tschida, William Tschida, Martin Bleich, Michael Bleich and Louis
Kurz. Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Mary of the
Assumption Catholic Church with burial in Highland Cemetery. The
rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in the Nemeth Funeral
Home.
