SOUTH BEND - Carol A. Bleck, 72, of South Bend, died
Wednesday, August 27, 2008, in Hospice House, South Bend. She was
born April 11, 1936, in Michigan City, IN, to the late Carl and
Josephine (Phillips) Engstrom, and was a lifetime
northern Indiana resident. On January 3, 1959, she married Jerry
Bleck, who survives. She is also survived by her four children,
Christie Bleck of Lansing, MI, Julie (Bill) Paulson of
Clarendon Hills, IL, Jennifer Bleck of Chicago, IL, and Jack
Bleck of Los Angeles, CA; and three grandchildren, Anna, Jack and
Joe Paulson. Carol was a master gardener and a docent at
Potawatomi Zoo. She was a member of Tri Kappa, 100 Dance Club,
and the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a graduate of
Michigan City Elston High School and Indiana University,
Bloomington.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m.
Friday, September 12, 2008, in St. Joseph Chapel of Holy Cross
College, 54515 State Road 933 North, South Bend; phone
574-239-8400. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions
may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111
Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637; to the Potawatomi Zoo,
500 S. Greenlawn Drive, South Bend, IN 46617; or to Copshaholm
Gardens, 808 W. Washington St., South Bend, IN 46601. Welsheimer
Family Funeral Home North assisted her family with arrangements.
