Violet O. Blasko

Mishawaka – Violet O. Blasko, 73, of 1006 E. Broaday, died about 4 a.m. Saturday in her home after an illness.

Mrs. Blasko had formerly operated Frank’s Grocery and retired in 1982 from Montgomery Ward.

She was born Aug. 20, 1919 in Washington, Ind. On Feb. 10, 1945 in Mishawaka as Violet O. Schimell, she married Frank P. Blasko. He survives with a sister, Betty Greathouse of Niles and a brother, Elvin Clayton Schimmel of South Bend.

She was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church and its Rosary Society, Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, where a wake service will be at 3:30 p.m.
