Margaret M. Black

SOUTH BEND - Margaret M. Black, 87, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, formerly of South 26th Street, died at 2:35 p.m. Monday in her residence. Mrs. Black was born March 5, 1907, in South Bend, and lived in South Bend most of her life. In 1929, as Margaret M. Steinruck, she married Joseph Gorman. He preceded her in death. Her second husband, Clarence Black, died Jan. 31, 1977. She is survived by a daughter, Rosemary Herzog of South Bend; a son, Thomas M. Gorman of Wilton, Conn.; a stepdaughter, Carole Schmitt of Chicago; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a step-great-grandson. She was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
