Etta P. Black, 97, of Cape Coral,
Fla., formerly of the Mishawaka area, passed away of natural
causes on Monday, April 10, in Cape Coral. She was born on Oct.
21, 1902, to Ulysses and Estella Bond, who preceded her in death.
On Aug. 30, 1922, she married John Wilson
Black, who also preceded her in death, along with four brothers
and six sisters. She is survived by a daughter, A. Maxine (Carl) Wagner
of Cape Coral; two grandchildren, Karolyn Kucela of
Mishawaka, Ind., and William Wagner of Canton, Mich.; three
great-grandchildren, Scott (Cheri) Kucela and Todd (Michele)
Kucela, both of South Bend, Ind., and Kathryn Wagner of Canton;
three great-great-grandchildren, Cameron, Emma and Jonathan
Kucela, all of South Bend; and by 13 nieces and nephews. Mrs.
Black was retired from the Uniroyal Corporation in 1967 after 35
years as a line worker. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist
Church and was actively involved with her church and family. She
also enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Services for Mrs. Black will be held at 2
p.m. on Saturday, April 15, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North,
3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka. Burial will follow at St.
Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Friends will be
received one hour prior to services on Saturday. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church or to
Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 9470 Health Park Cr., Ft.
Myers, FL 33908.
