CHRISTINE M. BISHOP

July 4, 1958 - Dec. 10, 2005

SOUTH BEND - Christine M. BISHOP, 37, of W. Edison Road (Lydick) South Bend, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 in her residence, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Christine was born on July 4, 1968, in Mishawaka, Ind., and was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area. On August 6, 2004, in Mishawaka, Ind., she married Kevin D. BISHOP, who survives.
Also surviving are Christine's mother, Delores A. POTTER of Mishawaka, Ind.; a daughter, Nicole C. GLUPKER of South Bend; a son, Darrell J. GLUPKER of South Bend; a stepdaughter, Amanda J. BISHOP of Georgia; a stepson, Joshua L. BISHOP of South Bend; a sister, Sue A. (Larry) CONNER of Parksville, Ark.; and five brothers, Ronald D. NELSON and Robert J. NELSON, both of Mishawaka, Ind., Terry L. NELSON and Daniel W. MARTIN, both of Elkhart, Ind., and Henry (Sam) MARTIN Jr. Of Mishawaka, Ind.
Christine was preceded in death by her father, Henry B. MARTIN Sr., a sister, Laura A. NELSON and a brother, Larry NELSON.
Prior to becoming ill, Christine worked for the Indiana Dept. of Transportation.
She loved woodworking, gardening, motorcycles, and most of all mushroom hunting. She was a member of the Chain-O-Lakes conservation Club and a member of ABATE Region I.
Christine was a loving wife and mother, and was close to her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 14 in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the memorial service.
The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to: The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
