B. Jean (Hamilton) Binder, 72, formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed from this life on Sunday, June 2, in Sun Lakes, Ariz. Mrs. Binder was born Aug. 29, 1929, in Yorktown, Ind. She was a loving wife and mother and is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert G. Binder of 10218 E. Spring Creek Road, Sun Lakes, AZ 85244; her daughter, Sally Binder Thomas of Stevensville, Mich.; her son, R. Scott Binder of South Bend; six grandchildren, Stacey and Jason Binder, and Adam, Brook, Jenna and Lea Thomas; and by a brother, James A. Hamilton of Yorktown. Jean was a graduate of Ball State University and taught for over 30 years in the South Bend Community School System, primarily at Navarre School. She retired with Bob to Arizona in 1988.

The family will receive friends at the Morris Park Country Club, South Bend, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, to celebrate Jean's life. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 6063 E. Arbor Drive, Mesa, AZ 85206; or to the charity of the donor's choice. The Welsheimer Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.
