SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Pauline Billitteri, 88, of South Bend, died
Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at St. Anne Home in Fort Wayne. Mrs.
Billitteri was born in Monreale, Sicily, on Oct. 15, 1921, to
Anthony and Benadetta Albano. She came to the United States
through Ellis Island as an infant and was a lifelong resident of
South Bend until moving to Fort Wayne in April. On Oct. 5, 1946,
she married Matthew Billitteri, who died in 2007. Mrs. Billitteri
is survived by three children: Theresa Billitteri of Seattle, WA;
Thomas (Mary Lynn) Billitteri of Fairfield, PA; and Mary Anne
(Dustin) Roach of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren: Emily and Lara
Roach of Fort Wayne and David Martin of McLean, VA; a brother,
Michael Albano, of South Bend; and a sister, Katherine Garden, of
Chatsworth, CA. Another sister, Ursula "Sue" Albano
Pensa, died in 1992. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Basilica of the Sacred
Heart, on the Campus of the University of Notre Dame. Mrs.
Billitteri was a member of Sacred Heart Parish. Friends may call
from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday in the McGann Hay University Chapel, 2313
E. Edison Road at Ironwood, South Bend. The family requests that
in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made in Mrs.
