Mishawaka - Blanche D. Biggs, 78, of 1304 East Thirds Street, died about 4:23 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital. Mrs. Biggs retired from Uniroyal here in 1960 after 20 years of employment. She was born April 28, 1906 in Monrovia, Ind. and spent most in the Mishawaka area.

As Blanche Housand she married Burt Biggs Jan. 7, 1958 in South Bend. He died Nov. 20, 1981. Survivors include five daughters, Wanda Cowens, Hope Gill, Phyllis Heckaman and Patricia VanCamp, all of Mishawaka, and Thelma Costinett of Bremen; two brothers, Raymond Housand of Paris, Mich., and Silver D. Housand, of Mishawaka; 26 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, and a sister Edith Jones of Indianapolis.

Services will be at 11 p.m. Saturday at the Bubb Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friend may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Editor: Her obituary listed Raymond Housand and Silver Housand incorrectly as her sons, while they were he brothers.
