Brother Omer Bielawski CSC, 96, of Dujarie House, Notre Dame, died there late Monday safter a long illness. He was born in Bejagola, Lithuania, on Feb. 12, 1886, and entered the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1923. He made his profession of vows on July 2, 1929 and had assignments in New Orleans, La., River Grove, Ill., and throughout the Notre Dame area. He is survived by a niece, Bertha Mance of Countryside, Ill., and a nephew Stanley Posen, of Blue Bell, Pa.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Holy Cross Brothers Center Chapel. Rev. William Simmons CSC will officiate, and Brother Joseph McTaggart CSC will off the homily. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery on the campus of Holy Cross Junior College. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today at the Holy Cross Brothers Center Chapel, where a wake will be observed at 7:30 p.m.
