William R. Bickel, 71, Michigan City, died at 9:44 p.m. Wednesday (March 28, 1990) at St. Anthony Hospital.
The funeral will be at the Carlisle Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.
Friend may call at the funeral home from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday and until the service Monday.
Mr. Bickel was born in Michigan City, the son of Joseph Bickel and Flossie Marbeiter.
Surviving are there daughters, Cheryl and Cathy Bickel and Cindy Hamlen, all of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; one son Thomas Bickel, Thousand Oaks; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother Robert Bickel, Michigan City; and two sisters, Dorothy Proll, Bradenton, Fla., and Lilas Corbett, Michigan City. A brother, James Bickel Sr. is deceased.
Mr. Bickel had worked as an oiler for the South Shore Railroad. He was a member of First Christian Church, American Legion Skiat Post 451, and Masonic Lodge, A. & F.M. 578. He was a life member of the Musicians Union, and he served with the US Army.
