Constantine MI – Richard E. Bickel, 61, of 10560 N. River Road, who died Wednesday in his home after an illness will be at noon Saturday in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Edwardsburg. Burial will be in Edwardsburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg, where a scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m., and one hour before services Saturday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Hospice.
Mr. Bickel had worked at Champion Tool & Die in Mishawaka. He was born Sept, 30 1931, in Dowagiac and was a lifelong Michiana resident. Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Melendez of Marcellus; two sons, Thomas of Constantine, with whom he had resided, and Mark of Three Rivers; three grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Bauer of Au Gres, Mich., Martha Giles of San Bernardino, Calif., and Patricia Keller of San Diego; and two brothers, Pete of Niles and Charles of Riverside, Calif. A daughter, Debra Lynne Bickel died Jan. 3, 1955.
