Nicholas M. Bickel
Nicholas M. Bickel, 81, of 302 E. Borley
Ave., a lifetime resident of Mishawaka, died at 3:50 a.m. Sunday
in his home.
He married the former Mary Marsh on
September 5, 1893, in this city. She survives. He was
a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church.
Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs.
Paul Britton, of Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Robert Rieffel,
of Mishawaka, Mrs. Robert Havens, of Mishawaka, and Miss
Dorothy Bickel, at home; five sons, Joseph, of Michigan City,
Ind., Charles, Robert, George and Donald, all of Mishawaka; one
brother, Joseph, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Bert, both of
Mishawaka. There are 21 grandchildren, 26
great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the
Bubb Funeral Chapel. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
Tuesday in the chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m.
Wednesday in St. Monica’s Catholic Church. Rev. Leo
Hoffman, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview
Cemetery.
Mr. Bickel’s grandsons will serve as
pallbearers.
