MISHAWAKA - Nicholas John Bickel, 73,
a lifetime resident of Mishawaka, died Wednesday morning in St
Joseph Hospital, after an illness of two weeks. He was born in
Mishawaka and on Aug. 8, 1926 he married Lillian M. Fouts
here. He was a retired painter. Surviving are his widow; two sons
Gerald N. and Albert P. Bickel of this city; three daughters,
Mrs. Betty Harrington and Mrs. James Chapman, both
of Mishawaka, Mrs. Harold Ramey of Antioch, Calif.; two
step-sons, Clayton J. Barrow of this city, and Arthur W.,
Barrow of Long Beach, Calif.; a step-daughter, Dorothy Barrow of
Chicago; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ralph Howland of
LaPorte. And three brothers, George Bickel of Mishawaka, Otto
Bickel of Cassopolis, Mich., and Henry Bickel of Edwardsburg,
Mish. He was a veteran of World War I.
Friends may call in the Bubb Funeral Chapel
after 7:30 p.m. today and until services there at 1 p.m.
Saturday. Rev. Roy G. Hammon, pastor of the First Baptist Church,
will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetry.

Elizabeth Krause on 9-3-1919 in St. Monicas Catholic
Church in Mishawaka.
