James M. Bickel Jr., 57, Michigan City, died Wednesday (March 2, 1994) at St. Anthony Hospital,

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Carlisle Funeral Home. Burial will be inm Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Bickel was born Oct. 26, 1936 in Michigan City the son of James M. and Bertha (Cowgill) Bickel Sr.

He was married on June 16, 1956 in Michigan City to Barbara L. Damptz, and she survives.

Also surviving are one son, Alan B. Bickel of Michigan City; two daughters, Barbara D. Ragland and Shawn E. Semla, both of Michigan City; four grandchildren and one sister, Ganet Bickel of Michigan City.

Mr Bickel was employed as a security guard at Michiana Security. He also worked ass a truck driver, and he served in the Marine Reserves. He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 980.
