George M. Bickel
A lifetime resident of Mishawaka, George M.
Bickel, 77, of 138 St. Lo Ave., died at 6 p.m. Monday in St.
Josephs Hospital. He had been in ill health for the
last three years.
Mr. Bickel was born in Mishawaka and on
April 17, 1909, he married Elizabeth M. Holland in St.
Josephs Church. He retired from the Ball-Band Plant
10 years ago after being employed there for 50 years.
Surviving are his widow; three sons, Carl
and Virgil of Mishawaka and Lawrence of Elkhart; one daughter,
Mrs. Fred G. Cecchi, of Mishawaka; two brothers, Otto
Bickel, of Cassopolis and Henry Bickel, of Edwardsburg, and a
sister, Mrs. Ralph Holland of Kingsford Heights, Ind.
Friends may call in the Thallemer-Goethals
Funeral Chapel after 6 p.m. Wednesday and until the funeral
services at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Monicas Church. Rev.
Leo A. Hoffmann, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St.
Josephs Cemetery.

Funeral services for George M. Bickel, 77,
of 138 St. Lo Ave., who died Monday, will be at 9 a.m. Friday in
St. Monicas Church. Rev. Leo. A Hoffmann, pastor,
will officiate and burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery.
Friends may call in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home and the
rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. today. Pallbearers
will be Frank Miller, Cletus Mickels, Richard and Ralph Howland,
Jr. and Eugene and Franklin Bickel.
