Mishawaka – Carrie A. Bickel, 89, formerly of West Catalpa Drive, died at 4:20 p.m. Monday in Fountainview Place Nursing Home.

Mrs. Bickel was born June 27, 1899, in Starke County, and was a lifelong area resident. On Jan. 9, 1923 in South Bend, as Carrie A. Mitchell, she married Clarence Bickel. He died Dec. 2, 1970. She is survived by a daughter, Beatrice L. Curtis of South Bend; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Hahn’s DeVos Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Highland Mausoleum, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to River Park United Methodist Church, of which she was a member.
