MISHAWAKA - Mrs. Barbara Bickel, 64,
a resident of Mishawaka for the last 47 years, died this morning
in her residence at 503 E. Jefferson. She was one of the best
known women in the city, having long been identified with church
interests here. She was a member of the Rosary Society of St.
Monica’s Catholic Church. She was born in Baveria, Germany
on June 23, 1853.
On August 19, 1872 she was united in
marriage to Nicholas Bickel here. Her maiden name was Barbara Raab.
The surviving children are Frank, George, Otto, Joseph, Henry and
Mrs. Ralph Howland, all of Mishawaka, and Nicholas Jr.,
now at Hattiesburg, Miss.
