Josephine Bianco, 87, formerly of
Bowman Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday,
Nov. 26, in the Holy Cross Care & Rehabilitation Center. She
was born on Oct. 18, 1911, in Racine, Wis., and had lived in this
area most of her life.
As Josephine Maio, she married Frank
Bianco in South Bend on Nov. 24, 1929. He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by a son, John in 1988; two
sisters; and by two brothers.
Josephine is survived by four sons, Vincent
of Kalamazoo, Mich., Louis of Wabash, Ind., Joseph of Troy,
Mich., and Eugene of Granger, Ind.; a sister, Rose Papa of
Hammond, Ind.; and by 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren
and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Cathedral of St.
Matthew, Harvest House, and the Daughters of the American
Revolution. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on
Sunday, Nov. 29, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main
Street, Mishawaka, Ind., with a recitation of the Rosary at 7
p.m.
The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on
Monday in the Cathedral of St. Matthew, with Fr. Dermot Gahan
officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens,
Osceola, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to the St.
Matthew Cathedral School Fund.
