SOUTH BEND - Kathleen J. "Kay" Beutter, 85, of South
Bend, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, after a brief illness.
Kay was born December 12, 1924, in Mishawaka, to Ernst and Helen
(Arch) Beutter, and had lived in this area most of her life. She
was a graduate of Adams High School in South Bend. Kay retired as
a personnel administrator from the Bendix Corporation following a
long career. She was an active member of St. Monica Catholic
Church in Mishawaka. Kay was an accomplished golfer and loved
spending time outdoors, gardening and refinishing furniture. An
avid Notre Dame fan, she enjoyed watching football and attending
women's basketball games. Kay was preceded in death by her
parents, and by her brother, Edmund J. "Bud" Beutter.
Kay is survived by and was a loving aunt to Susan Bloom of Boise,
Idaho, Eric Beutter of Pensacola, Florida, Judy Mendenall of
Boise, Idaho, Patrick (Charlene) Beutter of Benton Harbor,
Michigan, and Mary Beutter of Boise, Idaho. Also surviving are a
cousin, Winifred Wulf of South Bend, five great-nephews and five
great-great-nieces. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Monica Catholic Church, 225 West
Mishawaka Ave., Mishawaka, with Rev. Jeffery Largent officiating.
Kay's family will receive friends in the church from 9:30 - 10:30
a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery,
Mishawaka. Contributions in Kay's memory may be made to St.
Monica Catholic Church. Arrangements are in the care of the
Thallemer, Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 West 3rd
Street, Mishawaka.
