Helen Mae Beutter, 89, of Homewood Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, in her residence.
Helen was born in Mishawaka on March 6, 1909, and was a lifelong Mishawaka resident.
Helen graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1927, and received her registered nursing degree from Epworth Memorial Hospital in 1930.
During World War II she taught home care nursing at St. Joseph Hospital. She was also very active with the American Red Cross. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran, Mishawaka, and active in the Ladies Aid of the church.
On Feb. 18, 1931, in Mishawaka, Helen Mae Cone married Charles H. Beutter, who survives.
She is also survived by a daughter, Barbara Jean D'Achille of Beaver Falls, Pa.; a son, Robert C. (Mary Alice) Beutter of Mishawaka; eight grandchildren, Robert D'Achille of New York, Thomas and James D'Achille of Florida and Nancy Shroads of Pennsylvania, Brent Beutter of California, Lori Beutter of Tennessee, Brad Beutter of New York and Brian Beutter of Wisconsin; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Janice Feeger of Buffalo, Wyo.; and by a brother, James C. Cone of Melbourne, Fla.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the St. Peter Lutheran, Mishawaka, with Rev. Kenneth Manglesdorf officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
