James Bethany

Oct. 4, 1912 - March 21, 1999

Mr. James Bethany, 86, loving father and grandfather, of Winamac Lake Drive, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away following an extended illness at 8:15 a.m. on Sun-day, March 21, at the North-wood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

On Oct. 4, 1912, in Ha-zelhurst, Miss., he was born to Ezekiel and Ora (Robison) Bethany, who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Coming from Hazelhurst in the late 1930s he moved to South Bend, Ind. In January 1969 he joined the New Testament Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board until his illness. He worked many dedicated years for White Farm until his retirement in the mid- 1970s.

James leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Delores J. Scott of South Bend and Adrena L. Bethany of Mishawaka; two sons, Bobby Bethany of Niles, Mich., and Michael James (Hertha) Bethany of South Bend; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; along with a host of other friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, March 25, at the New Testament Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
