MISHAWAKA - Pearl B. Ewing Bess, 85,
formerly of the 100 Center Hi-Rise, passed away after an illness
on Saturday, Jan. 2, in the Manor Nursing Home, Mars Hill, N.C.
Mrs. Bess was born on Oct. 19, 1913, in Owen, Ky, as the daughter
of Frank and Emma (Duvall) House.
Mrs. Bess is survived by her nieces, Cindy
(Marlin) Lowery of Buchanan, Mich., Cathy (Barney) Simon
of Edwardsburg, Mich., Debbie (Bill) Stamey of Ashville,
N.C., and Dolane Larson of Burbank, Calif.; three nephews,
George (Lynn) House of Canton, N.C., Mike (Debbie) House
and Alan (Rhonda) House, both of Weaverville, N.C.; two
sisters-in-law, Betty Morris of Weaverville, N.C., and
Dolores House of Elkhart, Ind.; and by an aunt, Myrtle Rice of
Springhill, Fla.
Friends may call one hour prior to services
on Friday, Jan. 8, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street,
Mishawaka. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday in the
funeral home, with Rev. Tom Blackford of Faith United Methodist
Church, South Bend, officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn
Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the
charity of donor's choice.
