SOUTH BEND - Angela A. Berus, 88, passed away peacefully at her
home and Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis in the early
morning hours of Sunday July 18. Angela was born on August 2,
1921 in South Bend to the late Lucas and Frances (Sokolowski)
Ambroziak. On October 4, 1947 she married Chester J. Berus in
South Bend. He preceded her in death on October 18, 1986. She was
also preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Kazmierczak,
Sophie Ambroziak and Jean Ambroziak; and by her brother, Joe
Ambroziak. She is survived by her two sons, James Berus of St.
Louis Park, MN and Robert (Pamela Jean) Berus of East Amherst,
NY; three grandchildren, Stephen Joseph Berus, Kimberly Anne
Berus, and Matthew Alan Berus; sister, Bernice Splawski of South
Bend; and by her brother, Valentine Ambroziak. Angela lived in
South Bend for 66 years before moving to Minnesota after the
passing of her husband. She was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic
Church while living in South Bend, and a member of Good Shepherd
Catholic Church since living in Minnesota. Angela retired in
1982, the same year as her husband. She worked at Bendix, the
University of Notre Dame and Sobenite Plastics at different
points before retiring. Angela enjoyed spending time with her
family, especially her grandchildren. Family and friends may
gather from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, in ST. JOSEPH
FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, where a Funeral
Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow in
St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. For those who are unable to
