Hillary Berner, 67, a former Mishawaka resident, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday in his home in Otsego, Mich. A retired Centre Twp. Farmer, he had suffered from a heart ailment.
He was born in Mishawaka on May 16, 1900.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine; four sons, Philip, William, Jerome and Frederick, all of Ostego; two daughters, Mrs. William Anson of Kalamazoo and Mrs. Catherine Graham, of Otsego; two sisters, Mrs. Jerome Gillins of South Bend, and Mrs. VanGilder of Flint.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Rev. Harold Riley, CSC, pastor of Sacred Heart Church, Notre Dame, officiating.
The McGann Funeral Home is handling local arrangements. In Otsego, arrangements are being handled by the Winkle Funeral Home.
Editor: On June 19, 1929 he married Mary Catherine Terbush in St. Joseph County IN.
