SOUTH BEND - Rebecca Berman, 88, of West Marion Street, died at 4:55 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Berman was born Nov. 15, 1907, in South Bend.

In 1929, in South Bend, as Rebecca Pollock, she married Joseph ''Ike'' Berman. He died June 13, 1978. She is survived by a sister, Ida Margowsky of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Bridge Center, University Club of Notre Dame, Hadassah, and Sinai Synagogue.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, Mishawaka. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the home of Jody and Mike Freid, 1132 Stratford Place. Memorial contributions may be made to Sinai Synagogue Fund for the Future or Oncology Department of Memorial Hospital.
