Russell W. Berg, 93, of South Ironwood Drive, St. Paul's Retirement Community in South Bend, Indiana, passed away Monday, November 7, 2005, in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Berg was born November 27, 1911, in South Bend. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service. His parents, a sister, and his first wife, Amelia Varga, preceded him in death.

On July 15, 1980, Russell married Martha G. (Borkowski) Oshinski, who preceded him in death on May 1, 2004. Surviving are his stepchildren, Ralph (Joan) Oshinski of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Joyce (Sandy) Catalino of Cassopolis, Michigan, and Timothy (Shirley) Oshinski of South Bend; 13 step-grandchildren and 25 step-great-grandchildren.  Mr. Berg was a World War II Navy veteran, an avid golfer, and will be truly missed.

Visitation will held from 5 to 7 PM today, November 8, 2005, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, November 9, 2005, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, with Chaplain Will Braniff officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Retirement Community, 3602 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN 46614.
