Martha G. Oshinski Berg, 91, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, South Bend, Ind., formerly of Ryer Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Saturday, May 1, in St. Paul's. Martha G. Borkowski was born on July 16, 1912, in South Bend, to the late William and Josephine (Nowacki) Borkowski.

On June 6, 1933, she married Frank Oshinski, who preceded her in death on June 4, 1972. On July 15, 1980, she married Russell W. Berg, who survives. Martha is also survived by her son, Ralph (Joan) Oshinski of Lawrenceville, Ga.; a daughter, Joyce (Sandy) Catalino of Cassopolis, Mich.; a son, Timothy (Shirley) Oshinski of South Bend; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and by a sister-in-law, Ann Oshinski of South Bend. Along with her first husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Martha worked for Uniroyal for 18 years before retiring on Feb. 28, 1971. She was a charter member of St. John the Baptist Church, South Bend, where she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Parish Rosary Society.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, May 2, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 3, in St. John the Baptist Church, 3526 St. John Way, South Bend, with entombment to follow at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend.
