Richard "Dick" D. Bergman, 70, of Largo, Fla., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died on Thursday, Nov. 18, in Suncoast Hospital, Largo. Richard was born on Sept. 24, 1929, in Kokomo, Ind., to the late Otto and Lavada Bergman.
Richard retired from Preston Trucking Company, South Bend. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He belonged to the American Legion Rhen Hilkert Post #21, Westville, Ind., and Teamsters Local 100, South Bend.
Richard is survived by a companion of three years, Judy P. Becotte of Largo; a daughter, Kimberly D. Bergman of Largo; two sons, Richard "Rick" D. Bergman of Indianapolis, Ind., and Troy D. Bergman of St. Charles, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Deborah Netherlands of New Carlisle, Ind.; three sisters, Mary Katherine Patchett of Frankfort, Ind., Helen Stockdale of Kokomo, and Virginia Bennett of Lafayette, Ind.; three brothers, George Bergman of Galveston, Ind., Ralph Bergman of Monticello, Ind., and Roy Bergman of Kokomo; and by four grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday in Moss Feaster Funeral Home, Largo. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday in Christ Lutheran Church, Kokomo.
