Margaret L. Bergman, 73, of Rue Rabelais, South Bend, Ind., died at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 29, 1925, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.
On Nov. 20, 1946, in South Bend, as Margaret Turczynski, she married Eugene R. Bergman, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Irvin Turk; and by a sister, Dolores Polack. She is survived by four daughters, Donnarae (Steve) Sulentic of North Liberty, Ind., Linda (Richard) Ford of Key Largo, Fla., Kathleen (Greg) Smith of Ridge Crest, Calif., and Michelle (Fred) Cytacki of Spring, Texas; eight grandchildren, Paul and Michael Ford of South Bend, Jennifer and Christopher Smith of California, Steven Sulentic, Jr., of South Bend, Michael Sulentic of North Liberty, and Allison and Jill Cytacki of Spring; two great-grandchildren, Kala and Slate Sulentic of South Bend; three sisters, Virginia Ciesielski and Barbara Ford, both of South Bend, and Joann Siade of Elkhart, Ind.; and by four brothers, John Turk, Jr., Bob Turk and Eugene Turczynski, all of South Bend, and Norbert Turczynski of New Carlisle, Ind. Mrs. Bergman was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Marcellus, Mich., for 20 years.
There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. The St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Family Catholic Church Building Fund, 56405 Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN 46619.
