Mary A. Bergland, 76, of Berkley Circle, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24, in her residence. Mrs. Bergland worked for F. W. Means Company, and retired from St. Mary's Community Hospital as a worker in the cafeteria. She was born on June 8, 1920, in North Liberty, Ind., to the late Elmer and Maude (Miller) Stull. She had been a lifelong area resident, coming from North Liberty in 1970.

She was married to Paul R. Bergland, who preceded her in death in 1974. Surviving is a daughter, Suzanne ''Sue'' Frederick of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a son, Drew A. Bergland of South Bend, Ind.; five grandchildren; and a sister, Lillian Andrews of Mishawaka. Eight brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 28, at the Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Don Francis will officiate services. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
