MISHAWAKA - Zelma J. Bergan, 89, of Tanglewood Lane, died at 11:55 a.m. Sunday in Fountainview Place. Mrs. Bergan was born Jan. 12, 1907, in Shields Grove, Ill., and lived in Mishawaka most of her life.

On April 28, 1938, in Fort Wayne, as Zelma J. Salisbury, she married Edward L. Bergan. He died March 12, 1996. She is survived by a daughter, Helen Bayman of South Bend; two sons, James P. of Mishawaka and Edward L. Jr. of South Bend; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Cremation will take place. There will be no visitation. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
