Funeral services for Brother Michael CSC, 72, whose worldly name was Patrick Bergan, who died Dec. 17, 1915 at Notre Dame, were held at the university this morning. He was born in Tiperary, Ireland on Aug. 17, 1843; received the holy habit April 19, 1891; and professed on Aug. 18, 1893. The solemn high mass was sung by his son, Rev. Father Bergan, vice president of St. Viator’s College of Kankakee, Ill. Beside Father Bergan, two other children survive, Brother Michael, and a sister of St. Mary’s Academy. Burial took place in the community cemetery at Notre Dame.
