Mrs. Paul F. Benz

July 17, 1906 – May 16, 1965

Mrs. Melanie Benz, 58, of 1020 N. Frances St., died Sunday in her home of an apparent heart attack.  Born in Toledo OH on July 17, 1906, she is survived by her husband, Paul F. Benz.  Also surviving are her parents, Valentine & Gazella Szekely, both of South Bend; a son, Paul J, a student at Ball State University, Muncie and two brothers, Edward and Ernest Szekely, both of South Bend.

Friends may call after 7pm today at the Hickey Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7pm Tuesday.  Services will be at 10am Wednesday in St Joseph’s Catholic Church and interment will be in Highland Cemetery.

A graduate of St Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, she was a member of the Altar Society.  Pallbearers will be Paul Virgil, Mark Virgil, Russell Wilcox, Arthur Quigley, Horace Weddle and Edward Dygulski.
