MISHAWAKA - Michael D. "Mickey" Bentley, 63, of
Mishawaka, died at 8:20 p.m. July 28, 2009 in his home of natural
causes. He was born on August 15, 1945 in South Bend to the late
Vernon E. and Louellan J. (Craft) Bentley. He was also preceded
in death by brothers, Larry G., Infant Wilmont and Ronald R.
Bentley; his sister, Pamela Sue Zurzolo and twin sister, Marsha
J. Cox. Mickey Bar tended for 20+ years for Mr. G's, Heinnies and
The American Legion Post 308, Osceola. He was a 1963 graduate
from Penn High School. He was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran
and a member of the American Legion Post 308, Osceola. He is
survived by his sons, Glen Peterson of South Bend and Michael
Johnson of Mishawaka; special niece, Cynthia Yoder of Osceola;
sister, Phyllis (Krege) Fahler of South Bend; brother, Donald
(Garnet) Bentley of South Bend; very special great-nephew, Little
Joey; several other nieces and nephews survive, and his ex wife,
Peggy Peterson. Mickey was dearly loved and will be greatly
missed by his family, friends and all who's heart he touched. A
memorial celebration of Mickey's life will be held at 7 p.m.
today, July 31, in the Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home, 1109
Lincolnway West, Osceola. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. (two
hours before services) on Friday, July 31, 2009 in the
Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Cremation
has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to
the family of Mickey Bentley. The Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home,
Osceola, is assisting the family with arrangements.
