MISHAWAKA - Earl J. ''Lucky'' Benson, 69, passed away Saturday morning, in his home. He was born on Sept. 3, 1927, in Dowagiac, Mich., to Daniel and Lillian Pecher Benson. He was married on Aug. 22, 1954, to Carol Sherk.

Mr. Benson was a retired truck driver and a World War II veteran of the U. S. Navy and Air Force.

Surviving, along with his wife, are sons, Charles of Michigan City, Ind., Victor of Osceola, Ind., Daniel of Mishawaka, Kenny Warren of Marcellus, Mich. and David Brown of Grover Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Cassandra Sample of Mishawaka; 22 grandchildren; his sisters, Pearl Morros of Niles, Mich., Josephine Keeve of Dowagiac and Georgianna Kosier of Pioneer Ohio; and his brothers, Walter Antisdel of Baldwin, Mich. and Sherman Benson of Channel View, Texas. He was preceded in death by sons, Earl, Jr. and Bruce Benson.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25, in Bremen Cemetery, Bremen, Ind. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
