SOUTH BEND - William Tyrus "Ty" Bell, 80, of
South Bend, passed away in his home on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007.
He was born on April 16, 1927, to the late Tyrus W. and Frances (Zauss)
Bell. Ty served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy. He was a
retired real estate broker and was the former owner of Manor
Reality.
Ty is survived by his wife, Geri of South
Bend; his two sons, Lance W. Bell of Lakeland, Florida, and Micky
(Sue) Bell of Mishawaka; one daughter, Billie Bell of Washington;
his grandson, Nicolas (Katie) Bell; two sisters, Mary
"Kay" (John) Gray of Logansport, IN, and
Patricia "Karen" (John) Chrisman of Mishawaka;
four brothers, Thomas J. "Jerry" Bell of South Bend,
Robert J. "Bob" (Donna) Bell of South Bend, Francis
(Sandy) Bell of Royal Center, IN, and Michael S. Bell of
Michigan; along with several nieces and nephews. Ty was preceded
in death by his son, Patrick D. Bell, on October 28, 1974, and by
his brother, Kenny Bell. Ty was active in Cursillo, and while his
children were growing up he coached North Side Little League and
remained active for quite some time. Ty loved to fish, play poker
and shoot pool.
A funeral service will be Monday, Nov. 19,
at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 920 Wilbur St, South
Bend. Friends may visit with his family from 9 a.m. until time of
service. Military honors will follow. Family requests, in lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions be made to either Cursillo, c/o
Holy Cross Catholic Church, 920 Wilbur St., South Bend, IN 46628;
or to the donor's choice. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home is
handling arrangements.
