Desolina J. BelliSept. 6, 1898 - May 30, 1997 Desolina J. Belli, 98, formerly of W. 12th St., passed away at 9:30 p.m., Friday, May 30, 1997, in Crestwood of Tanglewood Trace, Mishawaka, after an illness. Mrs. Belli was born Sept. 6, 1898, in Carpanetto, Italy, and had lived in Mishawaka since 1920. On Aug. 24, 1924, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, as Desolina J. Vernasco, she married Michele Belli. He passed away May 3, 1952. Mrs. Belli is survived by a son, Remo Belli of Sherman Oaks, Calif., a daughter, Elsie Van Bruaene of Granger, Ind.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Belli was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Belli was a cook for 28 years at the former Florence Cafe in Mishawaka, retiring in 1971. She was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, June 4, at 10 a.m. in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka with Rev. John Fassero, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 3., in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
