SOUTH BEND - Joseph Bella, 80, of Adams Road, died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in his home after an illness. Mr. Bella retired in 1980 from Allied Products Stamping Division, was employed by Studebaker Corp. for 30 years and was a former employee of White Farm Equipment Co. He was born Sept. 6, 1915, in South Bend.

On Nov. 26, 1938, in South Bend, he married Kathryn Kertes. She survives with two daughters, Beverly Gadacz and Kathiejo Bieschke, both of South Bend; seven grandchildren; a sister, Anne Simpson of Largo, Fla.; and a brother, Anton of Osceola. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 50.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Handmaids of the Most Holy Trinity or Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
